1. What's the TSER of this film?

Total Solar Energy Rejected is the honest heat number. A pro quotes it from the spec sheet. A shop that only says "99% heat rejection" is quoting one infrared wavelength and hoping you don't ask.

2. What exactly does the warranty cover, and for how long?

Lifetime should mean bubbling, peeling, cracking AND fading, in writing. Two-year warranties on dyed film are how $120 tint jobs turn into $300 removal-and-redo jobs.

3. Will this be legal on my vehicle?

The installer should know Florida's limits cold — 28% front sides, 15% rear on sedans, 6% floor behind the driver on SUVs and trucks — and meter your glass, not guess.

4. Who is actually doing the install?

Ask if the person quoting works for the company doing the install, or is handing your car to whoever is free that day. At Elite Navarre, every job is done by our own crew — one standard, since 2013.

5. Can I see recent local work?

Two more questions, if you have the installer on the phone

"Who actually turns up, and when?" A shop that cannot give you a window narrower than "sometime Tuesday" is fitting you around bigger jobs. Mobile installers live and die on scheduling; if they are vague about it now, they will be vague on the day.

"What happens if something goes wrong in a year?" Listen for whether the labour is covered, not just the film. Plenty of manufacturer warranties replace the material and leave you paying to have it fitted again. A lifetime warranty that excludes labour is half a warranty.

Red flags in a quote

A price with no film named. "Ceramic" is a category, not a product. The quote should say what is going on your glass.
Heat rejection quoted as a single big number. If nobody will give you TSER, the number you were given is infrared at one wavelength.
A mobile fee. You are being charged for someone else's fuel.
Pressure to decide today. Film is not a perishable good.

What a fair Navarre quote looks like in 2026

For a sedan, carbon lands around $300, nano ceramic around $349 and ceramic IR around $449, all glass included, installed where the car already is. Substantially below that usually means dyed film, a short warranty, or both — and roughly half our removal work is exactly that film, two summers later. Substantially above it should come with a specific reason: more glass, difficult rake, or old film to strip first.

If you are choosing for a house rather than a car

The questions change. Vehicle film is mostly about heat and legality; residential film is about heat, glare, fading and sometimes privacy — and the wrong film on the wrong glass unit can cause thermal stress. We wrote a separate buyer's guide for home window film that covers what to ask there.
